Tyler Bauer is a saxophonist, composer, arranger, and educator currently living in New York City. He has performed at the Jazz Education Network Conference with Lewis Nash and at various jazz festivals such as the Nice, Umbria, Montreux, and Essentially Ellington. He has received accolades from the Monterey Next Generation Jazz Festival and Fullerton Jazz Festival

He recently graduated with his Masters Degree in Jazz Studies from Indiana University, where he studied with Walter Smith III and Greg Ward II. During his time in the Midwest, he co-founded the modern jazz collective, Crossroads Quintet, as well as performed with esteemed musicians like Jeff Hamilton, and Cory Wong of Vulfpeck. Throughout his studies, he focused on composing and arranging works for various jazz combos, a fusion large ensemble directed by John Raymond, and solo piano.

As a native of Rio Rico, Arizona he was a long time member of the Arizona jazz community. Tyler performed a wide-variety of music as a freelance musician there; he often performed at The Nash with a number of jazz ensembles, gave clinics through their educational outreach programs, and performed with and arranged music for hip-hop collective, The Stakes. While in Arizona he studied with accomplished musicians Lewis Nash, Michael Kocour, Brice Winston and Bryon Ruth. 

As an educator, Tyler has taught woodwinds, music theory, jazz improvisation, and given clinics for ensembles. He teaches privately and is open for clinics at public schools.
